Crush The Stigma - Close The Gap

CRUSHING THE STIGMA

For you to have a productive discussion on mental health, it’s essential to grasp the primary obstacle to healthy conversations: Stigma

Stigma is not just a buzzword.

Stigmas are social and cultural factors that try to dictate how we express ourselves.

Stigma shapes every facet of mental health.

We have all grown up in societies that stigmatize mental health.

It drives silence among individuals. It perpetuates misunderstanding and ignorance among communities. And it creates bias, prejudice, and mistreatment within institutions.

You Must Understand Stigma. Historically, people have correlated managing mental health with our character, willpower, and personal strength.

That controlling and managing mental health is about some sort of physical strength or strength of character or willpower to just “get over it” or “tough it out.”

This is false.

Mental health challenges are issues that require varying levels of self-care, guided management, and trained professional treatment like any other medical issue.

CLOSING THE GAP

For Generations. Harm From Mental Health Challenges Has Been A Silent Public Crisis.

The Silence Is Made Of Stigmas That Shape How We Approach Every Facet Of Mental Health Care.

This Silence Of Stigma Forces A Gap Between The Onset Of Mental Health Challenges And The Point Of Care.

Each Struggle With Mental Health Grows In This Gap, Concealed By Stigmatizing Silence Until Symptoms Cannot Be Hidden.

The Hope For Us Network Closes The Gap Between The Onset Of Mental Health Challenges And The Point Of Care.
